An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the Nepal-India border sending tremors across New Delhi.
The quake's epicenter was in Nepal and it occurred at around 17:01 HRS (IST). The Indian Metrological Society stated that the quake was of 5.7 magnitude.
No loss of life of property has been reported thus far.
Tremors were felt across Delhi, Chandigarh and NCR.
Earthquake Report stated that city closest to the epicenter is Baitadi in Nepal.
Last month Japan was hit by a 9.0 magnitude temblor which resulted in a massive tsunami. The quake is reported to have claimed more than 10,000 lives.
